Essay No. 1
“In a war of ideas, it is people who get killed”. Does a common man suffer from a group’s ideology? Express your opinion, and support the same with reasons and examples.
From the time immemorial, mankind has always been at war with each other owing to the difference in opinions, faith and beliefs. Two thousand years back Jesus Christ was tortured and crucified, just because of the clash of ideas between two sects. Many people henceforth have sacrificed their life owing to the differences, in the way of thinking. I truly agree that “In a war of ideas, it is people who get killed” because it is the common person and his family only who suffers the loss of life, money and resources. Further he is forced to live his life in fear and has to cope up with the after effects of the mass destruction.
It is commonly observed, that in any riots which occur due to the hatred of the each other’s religious faith, it is the common man who loses his life. The partition of India and Pakistan in 1947 is an perfect example to illustrate how the country was divided on the basis of difference in ideology of few people led to the massacre of common people.
Further, the 9/11 attacks on the world trade centre in U.S clearly exhibited a dogma framed by one man and declared it to be an eternal truth. It was the life of 3000 common people who were killed and their families have been suffering and living in fear henceforth.
Finally, the aftermath of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, atomic bombing is not hidden from anyone. Generations after generations are bearing the brunt, in form of deformities in children. We can say that due to the selfish interests of few people, the common man has always suffered.

Every individual have different views, ideas and opinions. The clash of ideas always results in violence. So it is quite true that “in the war of ideas, it is a person who get killed” as common people lose their life, mass destruction of their society and they lives in a fear of death.
Two groups of people fight with each other to show that their idea is superior which results in losing in the life of common people and the family members who are left behind ,suffers. As can be seen in the year 1984 in India, there were riots in Delhi between Hindu and Punjabi community and lots of innocent people were killed.
Secondly, people can go to any extent in order to prove their beliefs and faiths. People act in rage and often forget the consequences of their activities which cause the destruction of the society. As a well know example, the nuclear attack in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, in which both the cities were destroyed completely and no one survived in that attack. Till now the effect of that nuclear bombing can be seen in the new generation in form of genetic deformities.
Lastly, due to the war like environment the people near the surroundings always lives in a fear of losing their life. For Instance, at India and Pakistan border there are always some violence clashes going on and because of which the civilians living near the border areas always lives in a terror that anytime a war can occur.
From the evidences observed in the history, we can say that due to few people’s personal interests and beliefs, common man has always been suppressed and suffered.
